Wedding: Donnie & Alyssa

It’s been a little while since I’ve updated the blog. Tracey & I had been in the work of planning a trip up to Kansas City, MO to take our engagement pics with the photographer for our wedding. Not to mention all the concern that surrounded the flooding down here for the past several weeks. Things haven’t really been busy… but stressful. But now, some of the major concerns surrounding the flood have calmed down a little, and we’ve already made it back from our short trip to KC with a few friends… some of the stress has lifted. Anyway, on to photos!

I’ve known Donnie for quite some time now. We met back in highschool and soon became friends. After highschool, I moved to Florida to work on the Disney College Program for a few months and when my time was done there, he did it. He eventually went full-time working there in the Photopass department.

While working there, he met Alyssa, who is originally from Arizona. She was also working on the college program. They became friends, started dating and the rest is history!

Donnie proposed to her in July of last year. As long as I’ve known Donnie, he’s always been a little unpredictable so when he called me up to ask me to take their wedding pics in a few days, I was just a tiny bit surprised. It was around 2 days before their wedding day. I did do their pics obviously, and though it was a ceremony that was very last-minute planned, it was very nice.

It was an early afternoon in late April at Lake End Park in Morgan City. After the ceremony, the bride and groom went to spend the rest of the time at the beach with some friends, that’s just how laid-back these people are! I’m very happy I got to be a part of this day! Now, on to the pics!

Sarah: Bridals

I’ve been waiting for a while to post these photos. We did this bridal shoot at Antique Roseville in New Iberia, LA in early April. My cousin, Sarah and her fiancee Jason got married this past weekend which means I can now post her bridal photos! I also shot a few pics at her wedding as well, though I’m excited to see the official photos shot by Maile Lani Photography from New Orleans.

We decided to then shoot a few in her mother’s wedding dress just for fun, while running through a nearby sugarcane field.

And here are the pics from their wedding, also at Antique Roseville.

New Local Artist

I’m doing some work for a new musician friend of mine… more pics to come…

The Arceneaux Family

This is coming up late but here it is! It’s been a few months since I did the Arceneaux family’s pictures, and with being busy with the church and all, it slipped my mind to post them. John & Chastity drove out to Franklin back in December for their family Christmas pics. We drove around town and stopped at several different locales to shoot. They had some fun in city park, putting on their team jerseys and throwing the ball. It eventually started raining and we had to call it a day but we had a great time on this session!

Critters at the Park

I love photoing portraits and families… but second to that, I enjoy photoing animals. Tracey & I went to a local park today for a little bit and got some pics of the critters in the area. NOTE: If you are not a fan of snakes, the last pic in this set is a snake… just letting you know!

Here’s the snake… actually snakes. I believe they’re Yellow-bellied Watersnakes, & if that’s the case… non-venomous.

NOLA: Jan. 2011

A couple of weeks ago, I was in New Orleans. It was a Saturday, Tracey went wedding dress shopping & I went look at guitars… then stroll through the Vieux Carre. Eventually, we hit Canal St. and back to our car, but not before beignets at Cafe Du Monde! The Mississippi River was low, oddly lower than how I’ve ever seen it.

Onething Conference 2010 : Kansas City, MO

This New Years Eve, and several days leading up to it; Tracey, a few friends & I headed up to Kansas City, MO for the annual Onething Conference. If you come to church with us, you’ve probably heard some mention about IHOP-KC. Onething is IHOP’s end of the year, young-adult aimed conference. I’ve watched it online in 2008 & 2009 but this was our first time going to the conference. It started with a 14 hour drive with a late start & around midnight, Dec 27th, we were there! Conference started the next day at 2pm. On the last day, we tried to get seats in the front but we were, as Trey said, bum-rushed and didn’t get them. Oh well, we had a great time, God moved, & I can say that I never want to spend New Years Eve any other way, even with 14 hours in a car!

We woke up to freezing temperatures the morning we left. This is my driver-side window.
